ACADEMIC THROMBOSIS SPECIALIST 

Three-Year Contractually Limited Appointment

Department of Medicine, McMaster University 

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, and Hamilton Health Sciences invite applications for an Academic Physician with expertise in Thrombosis Medicine. 

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed fellowship training in an Adult Thrombosis Medicine Area of Focused Competence (AFC) Training Program. Expertise in managing venous and arterial thromboembolism, particularly in the cancer population, would be an asset. It is expected that clinical activity related to patient care will take at least half of the successful candidate’s time. 

This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years in the contractually limited appointment category. There may be an opportunity for extension. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. 

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Hematology & Thromboembolism and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities. Advanced (graduate) training in Health Science Education, Healthcare Quality, or related scholarship activities is encouraged. 

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed in the Province of Ontario.
