The opportunity

Reporting to the Québec Area Manager, this position provides technical skills to ensure all compressor control systems and equipment are effectively maintained and safely operated in accordance with our standards of performance, policies and procedures. This position will be in the Les Cedres or Lachenaie Compressor station.

 

This position is overtime eligible and will be part of an on-call rotating schedule and provide emergency support, as required. The regular work schedule for this position will be:

  • Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day Friday is an 8 hour / day
  • Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day Friday is a Regular Day Off (RDO)

 

Please note that hours of work may need to be extended as business needs arise.

 

The successful candidates will have to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve overnight stays away from home.

*This position is eligible for domestic relocation assistance, but is not eligible for cross-border relocation assistance.

 

What you’ll do

  • Independently perform installation, testing, repair and maintenance on compressor station equipment and other facilities relevant to the pipeline system, as required
  • Perform routine and major maintenance on VFD compressor packages, gas compressor units and associated auxiliary equipment
  • Perform emergency repairs to meet customer and client needs
  • Oversee the safe and efficient completion of projects
  • Occasionally perform Mechanical and Pipeline work as required
  • Active control of contractors
  • Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TC Energy's safety, health, environment and risk standards
  • Procure resources and manage within budgets for the facilities
  • Provide support to our business partners, as required
  • Other tasks as required

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be fully certified as a journeyman electrician or possess an Industrial Electronics DEC
  • Experienced with the interpretation of technical reference documents
  • Experience in high and medium voltage applications
  • Strong PLC’s and Control background
  • Competent in the use of test equipment applicable to the maintenance of control systems
  • Bilingual in English and French, both written and verbal fluency is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively alone and in a team environment.
  • SAP experience

  • have a valid Electric competency card to work in Quebec
  • have and maintain a valid Driver's License
  • provide a Driver's Abstract for review
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
