ACADEMIC RHEUMATOLOGIST 

Department of Medicine, McMaster University 

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences/St. Joseph’s Healthcare invite applications for an Academic Rheumatologist to join the Division of Rheumatology. This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable).  Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. 

The successful candidate must have experience and training and commit to clinical care of patients with Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma). The successful candidate should show an interest in education and research in Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma). Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in the clinical care of other Connective Tissue Disorders and General Rheumatology.  

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Rheumatology and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division.  The successful candidate should have a proven track record in undergraduate and/or post graduate education and will be expected to fully participate in all appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities.   

The successful applicant will be involved in a combination of clinical, research and educational activities. Clinical activities will include assessing and treating patients in the St Joseph Healthcare Hamilton Rheumatology Clinic as well as regional on-call services in rheumatology. Educational activities will include providing education to students, residents, and trainees. Research opportunities include educational, clinical, imaging or in basic sciences (with support from McMaster immunologists). 

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
