The opportunity

As part of the Industrial Controls Integrity team you will be primarily responsible for enabling the advancing technical competency and cultural maturity of process safety within our Industrial Controls systems across TransCanada. This role will support Industrial Controls process safety initiatives to collect and analyze our incidents and events to enhancing our Process Safety through enabling learning throughout the organization.

What you’ll do

Under the direction of the Manager of Industrial Controls Integrity Program, the successful candidate will:

  • Collect and analyze of process safety incidents and events
  • Support incident investigations
  • Develop, implement and maintain awareness and training material related to incidents and events
  • Support incident and event trending and reporting

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Technical degree or Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Chemical preferred)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Basic investigation skills
  • Effective writing and communication skills
  • Four+ years experience working with Facilities systems and controls

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Process Safety awareness
  • Business acumen related to TransCanada’s energy and pipeline businesses
  • Basic experience in risk assessment, process hazard analysis, and related field activities (commissioning, pre-start up safety reviews)
  • Technical cross functional experience with facility integrity disciplines and risk assessment
  • Basic knowledge of controls related software, SCADA systems, advisory systems
