Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction Multiple Locations in B.C Four (4) full-time temporary opportunities from September 2024 until August 2025. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement. Equity Internship Program $57,296.54 annually The Equity Internship Program (EIP) is a 12-month internship program for those who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour (BIPOC) and/or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, Two-Spirit, and/or other community members (LGBTQ2S+). The goals of the EIP are to: - Encourage BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ people to consider careers within the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR) - Recruit a more representative workforce - Support the development of leadership skills for BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ people - Help address social and economic barriers that exist for BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ people The interns will work in one of four teams: 1. Inclusion, Diversity and Cultural Safety 2. Strategic Human Resources 3. Children and Family Development Product 4. Prevention and Loss Management Services Qualifications for this role include: - Self-identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ2S+ - Currently live in BC - Secondary school graduation or equivalent (for example, GED) - Two years related experience and demonstrated leadership potential Related experience may be gained through work, community or volunteer opportunities and may include: - Managing projects or project components - Supporting the design, delivery, and/or evaluation of projects or programs - Searching, gathering, and examining information and summarizing the research findings - Developing presentations, and/or support materials for meetings or events - Organizing and prioritizing your and/or other people's work - An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered | |
