McMaster University, in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking two academic Plastic Surgeons to join our Level 1 trauma hospital to contribute to the reconstructive needs at this site. The academic plastic surgery group is one of the best in the country and McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences are committed to strengthening our Division by offering these two positions together to allow unique recruitment. Our vision includes adding two excellent Plastic Surgeons with expertise in either craniomaxillofacial trauma or hand/microsurgical reconstruction. A Fellowship in either would be required. Solid general reconstructive skills are required to support our cardiac, vascular, neurosurgical, general surgery and orthopedic programs. This busy service is supported by six other diversely skilled surgeons for a planned 1/8 call roster. Appropriate access to elective main OR, minor OR and ambulatory clinic space are available. The successful applicant will be expected to show evidence of interpersonal and collaborative skills and initiative to further advance the clinical and academic productivity of the Plastic Surgery Division. A commitment to surgical education at all levels is essential, as well, interest in formal educational roles would be advantageous. Research productivity is also a key asset. A full time Appointment at the appropriate level in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University is required and will be available to the successful applicant. Applicants must have a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.
