The role requires creativity, collaboration, and a natural curiosity for how retail batch payments work. The incumbent will support the development and design of a new financial risk framework for the clearing and settlement of retail batch payments. This role will work closely with subject matter experts on other teams, our regulators, and our participating financial institutions. This position presents a unique opportunity to participate in the updating of critical financial market infrastructure. We are seeking someone with a breadth of experience in areas such as financial risk, payment products, clearing and settlement, banking, and prior experience working on large projects.The Future State of Retail Batch (FSRB) project is a key priority for Payments Canada over the next few years. As a Senior Risk Analyst dedicated to this initiative, you will be a key member of a team working to identify, define and document payment processes and assist in the development of the conceptual design, high level requirements and detailed requirements.Reporting to the Financial Market Risk Manager, the Risk Analyst will work with the FSRB project team as well as with other business leaders and SMEs to help ensure the objectives for this initiative are met.This is a temporary position for a 16-month term.|What you'll doYour responsibilities as a Senior Risk Analyst will include:Development and Implementation: · Contribute to the development and implementation of the financial risk framework for a clearing and settlement system of retail batch payments that observes the Bank of Canada's Risk Management Standards for Prominent Payment Systems (PPS). · Contribute to the development of FSRB Conceptual design and functional requirements related to financial risk for a system that observes the PPS standards and meets the needs of Payments Canada's members and other relevant stakeholders.Project Management: · Be responsible for project milestones and artifacts, focusing on quality, timeliness, risks, and issues.Risk Mitigation and Support: · Support FSRB team members by advising on issues related to payment system financial risks and ensure the mitigation of these risks is appropriately incorporated into project planning and the deliverables of other team members.Stakeholder Engagement: · Engage with Payments Canada's members on issues related to the mitigation and management of financial risks within the system, building consensus, and aligning on the activities required to develop and implement the system.
