We support one another, make impactful contributions to the organization, and develop and nurture meaningful connections across our ecosystem!Come and join us - Where Payments Meets Purpose!|About the roleReporting to the Director, Financial Market Risk, the Financial Market Risk Manager, RTR is primarily responsible and accountable for leading the analysis, development, and operationalization of risk models for Payments Canada's core clearing and settlement systems focusing on RTR. These responsibilities include ensuring risk is effectively managed and reported in pursuit of our strategic objectives. Payments Canada's risk models must meet the relevant risk standards of the Bank of Canada for designated systemically important payment systems and for prominent payment systems, and shall be based on sound and credible information gathered from numerous sources, including: member and Canadian stakeholder engagement, international trends and developments, other payments expert's reports/opinions and sources of independent research. The incumbent will also be required to communicate complex matters with confidence to internal/external contacts and stakeholders who have varied interests and expertise as well as support discussions with members and Canadian stakeholders to achieve consensus on proposed models and implementation strategies.|What You'll DoYour responsibilities as the Financial Market Risk Manager, RTR will include:Framework Development and Maintenance · Implement and maintain Payments Canada's RTR payment system financial market risk framework and lead the development of future business/functional requirements for the financial risk framework to support the RTR future road map.Risk Program Analysis and promotion · Promote the rigour and credibility of the risk program and contribute by delivering high-quality analysis on financial risk management to support risk policy and risk management strategies in the medium to long-term.Stakeholder Engagement · Participate in internal and external stakeholder/member working groups to build and maintain relationships. · Develop, plan, prioritize and support work for the delivery of Payments Canada's continued and enhanced observance of the Bank of Canada's Risk Management Standards for Prominent Payment Systems in collaboration with other teams. · Project Management: Manage project activities and deliverables with a focus on quality, delivering within project timelines while managing project risks.|Minimum Qualifications · University degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; · Minimum five (7) years of experience in risk management or project and product delivery in financial services; · Knowledge of the Canadian payments industry, in particular Canadian payments clearing and settlement systems, or banking operations; · Knowledge of the federal government's and the Bank of Canada's positions/priorities in relation to financial sector policy and the modernization of Canada's core payments system; · Knowledge of existing and emerging international/global issues respecting the financial services sector in general that could have an impact on the Canadian payment systems; · Insights into the developments of international clearing and settlement systems is considered an asset; · Strong relationship management, presentation and thought leadership skills. · Government of Canada Reliability clearance or eligibility to obtain.|Preferred Qualifications · Insights into the developments of international clearing and settlement systems is considered an asset.|Salary Range · Based on qualifications and experience: $112,364 and $140,455.Please submit your application by August 06, 2024.| Payments Meets Purpose - What you can expect from us · Flexible, hybrid (remote/office) environment; · Competitive compensation package, including annual variable bonus and defined contribution pension plan with employer matching percentage (If eligible); · Comprehensive health and dental benefit coverage, including mental health coverage, life insurance and a health spending account for you and your dependents (Permanent and temporary employee's with contracts 12 months & over); · Paid time off: minimum four weeks paid vacation, sick and personal days, December Holiday Shutdown and Cultural Holiday Observance Days; · 26 Weeks of paid maternity and parental leave top-up; · Rewards and recognition program; · Access to Office Gym Facilities; · Internal and external professional development opportunities; · Fun team and organizational events; · Monthly All Staff Forums led by our Executive Leadership Team.|Our Diversity, Inclusion and Equity CommitmentAt Payments Canada, we are committed to making everyone feel they can be themselves and thrive at work.
