If you have a love for geriatric nursing and are skilled with complex behaviours in a residential setting, then we have a rewarding opportunity for you at the Penticton Regional Hospital. This permanent full time position supports residential facilities in SOK/COK and other areas.

As the Regional Knowledge Coordinator, you will support the residential facilities and will be the subject matter expert for complex behaviours in residential care. In consultation with the Operations/Program/Practice Leader(s) works with Interior Health (IH) Leadership in the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of education, training and related knowledge services within the assigned practice area(s) for IH.

The Regional Knowledge Coordinator provides knowledge services leadership and promotes consistent development, application, delivery and integration of evidence-based knowledge services within the assigned practice area(s) by methods such as: integrating evidence informed knowledge; utilizing adult teaching /learning techniques; incorporating change management principles; and acting as a resource to staff and others by providing evidence, guidance and support in relation to education/knowledge transfer methods, technologies, best practices and initiatives.

This position focuses on working with staff caring for residents with complex behaviours and mental health needs. Substantial knowledge in seniors’ mental health, P.I.E.C.E.S., GPA and residential care is required.

CredentialsCurrent practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses’ of BC (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC (CRPNBC)

Current valid B.C. driver’s license
Education RequirementsCompletion of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
ExperienceThree (3) years’ recent, related experience in the assigned practice area(s)

Two (2) years’ formal experience in adult teaching/learning, curriculum development, teaching, providing in services or staff development function; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
