The Opportunity

The Senior Information Systems Security Analyst provides security expertise to clients, monitors and handles day-to-day security incidents and issues, manages compliance initiatives, and coordinates security activities among multiple stakeholders. You will support the Chief Information Security officer (CISO) in the development and implementation of the Information Security Program, which includes the delivery of security assessments, a security policy framework, security architecture, and a security awareness program.

Qualifications

  • To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT security or information risk management, preferably in a post secondary or public sector environment.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, Certified Information Systems Security Professional or GISP, GIAC Information Security Professional are preferred.
  • Proficiency in security risk analysis and delivery of Threat and Risk Assessment (TRA) reports.
  • Sound knowledge of IT, industry security standards and best practices, legal and regulatory requirements for security, and common security controls.
  • Experience with the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of the ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002 framework of controls.
  • Strong familiarity or experience with ITIL, COBIT, and other operational and/or IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience with system development lifecycles (SDLC) and embedding security assurance into the planning, implementation, testing and deployment of solutions.
  • Experience with IT audit and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure that security matters are effective resolved with clients, peers and management.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills are required to support the design, implementation and maintenance of an Enterprise Security Risk Register and generating risk reporting and metrics as required.
  • Experience developing in person and online training sessions to contribute to the development and delivery of in person and online awareness training materials.
  • Must demonstrate good time management and administrative skills to work as an effective member of the administrative support team, supporting special projects and other initiatives in the office as needed.
  • Strong prioritization skills to ensure the completion of work in a timely manner.
  • A high level of flexibility to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a collaborative team environment.
