Job Types Regular job Terms of Employment: Full Time, Permanent Location: 19178 34A Ave Surrey, BC V3Z 1A7 (2 vacancies) Overview Education Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience 2 years to less than 3 years Work setting Various locations Responsibilities Tasks Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites Estimate costs and materials Assembling wood frames for furniture components. Positioning precutting frame parts, like sides, ends, and braces in fixture, and glue, staple, and screw them together to fabricate furniture frame, using hand tools, hand stapler, and glue applicator. Webbing and attaching spring hinges to the frames and stapling cardboard on different parts of the frames. Operating a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, hammers, nail guns, and levels, to perform tasks accurately and efficiently. Inspecting the work for accuracy, alignment, and quality. Making necessary adjustments to ensure the framing components meet the required standards.
