| Location: 3304 64 St NE, Calgary, Alberta T1Y 5R4 Vacancies: 2 Employment Term: Permanent, Full Time Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Immunization records, Criminal record check Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity Personal Suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Values and ethics, Effective interpersonal skills, Interpersonal awareness, Excellent oral communication Additional Skills: Consult with other health care professionals when developing treatment plans for clients Specific Skills: Maintain records of treatments given, Massage and knead muscles and soft tissues of the body, Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body, Administer massage techniques through soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain and lower grade mobilizations, Explain procedures, risks and benefits to clients, Assess clients by conducting range of motion and muscle tests and propose treatment plans, Suggest home care instructions and provide information about techniques Work Setting: Private practice Credentials: Certification by a provincial or territorial association for massage therapists in one of the following recognized professional associations: • CMMOTA – Canadian Massage & Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association • MTAA – Massage Therapist Association of Alberta • NHPC – Natural Health Practitioners of Canada Remark: Welcome underrepresented groups to apply, including Youth, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada Intended job posting audience: Anyone who can legally work in Canada can apply for this job.
