Senior Financial Analyst – Rogers Bank

 

Position Overview: Rogers Bank is currently looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to support financial planning and analysis function.  Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills coupled with technical expertise. The incumbent will act as a keeper of the bank’s multi-year forecasting model, participate in a diverse range of analysis initiatives, oversee the bank’s Capital project reporting and approval process as well as coordinate with multiple stakeholders across the bank and with various functions in RCI.  The role will also balance various tasks/demands, delivering highly accurate output in a timely manner.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Oversee the bank’s multi-year business forecasting model, including updates for actuals, annual maintenance and enhancement activities as well as model documentation;
  •  Support the bank’s forecasting cycle activities and documentation, including calendar management, compiling assumptions, ensuring completeness of supporting documentation;
  • Prepare the bank’s monthly departmental expense reporting, including variance analysis and investigation;
  • Manage the bank’s capital project reporting and forecasting, as well as respond to various inquiries form both RCI and bank leadership;
  • Oversee project submission requirements and coordinate with internal bank as well as RCI Capital stakeholders to provide all relevant financial information on time as necessary for the approvals.
  • Assist with business case modeling, including compiling relevant information and validating key assumptions;
  • Participate and lead various ad hoc analysis and investigation initiatives, including development of new forecasting capabilities and analysis tools.

 

Key qualifications:

 

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience within finance, with exposure to financial analysis function
  • University degree in business with a concentration in finance, accounting or economics
  • Accounting designation, or in progress of obtaining one is an asset (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA)
  • Strong analytical skills, with proven ability identify trends and relationships
  • Expert level Excel skills (including fluency with pivots) coupled with experience in financial modeling
  • Knowledge of database and data tools, with ability to extract and analyze diverse data sets (SAS knowledge is an asset)
  • Attentions to details with proven track record of delivering highly accurate output
  • Strong problem solving and effective communication skills with ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse cross-functional stakeholders
  • Self-motivated professional with a positive attitude, continuously seeking for process improvements
