Who we are
The Invasive Species Centre leads and mobilizes action to prevent the spread of invasive species to protect Canada's environment, economy, and society. The ISC was created by provincial and federal government partners in recognition of the cross-cutting nature of invasive species management and in 2011, incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. With a budget of $2 million, supported by ten provincial, federal and partner agreements, the Invasive Species Centre works in three areas: mobilizing action, enhancing knowledge and building the business case for investment in invasive species. ISC has grown into a respected leader in invasive species knowledge and cutting-edge programs on forest, aquatic and plant invasive species, working collaboratively with over fifty partners. It is a vibrant team of over twenty mission driven people located across Ontario, with headquarters at modern offices in Sault Ste. Marie. Learn more at https://www.invasivespeciescentre.ca/.
