This is a temporary opportunity until September 30th, 2025. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work four (4) or more days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Senior Advisor, Indigenous Relations
$83,071.72 - $94,752.42 annually

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans and improves transportation networks, builds new infrastructure, provides transportation services and implements transportation policies. The Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Branch is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policy and processes to help ensure safe and secure transportation access, drive economic development and promote collaboration with Indigenous communities and Indigenous peoples as it applies to the transportation sector.

The Senior Advisor, Indigenous Relations, leads development of strategic policy, programs and training from concept to implementation and evaluation, and engages with other provincial and federal agencies on Indigenous matters. The Senior Advisor provides leadership to processes which endeavor to anticipate and resolve a broad range of concerns, including policy development across ministry divisions.

Salary$83,071.72 - $94,752.42 Annually
ExperienceQualifications for this role include:

- Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Relations, geography, forestry, natural resources, regional planning, law, public administration, or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience; OR,
- Diploma in Indigenous Relations, geography, forestry, natural resources, regional planning, law, public administration, or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to candidates with one (1) or more of the following:

- Experience planning and conducting complex research and analysis related to Indigenous matters British Columbia.
- Experience providing written and/or verbal advice to senior decision makers.
- Applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis or Inuit)
