About the Opportunity
Our Kamloops office is currently looking for a capable and enthusiastic civil, mechanical or chemical engineering technology student or new graduate to join our team for a 4- or 8-month work term joining us either this summer or fall. There is flexibility within work arrangements to work from home, in the office or a combination of the two.

This opportunity will involve varied experience working with seasoned veterans and recent graduates alike.

Typical duties may include:
• Process/Mechanical Design – assist in the design production of detailed engineering drawings for water infrastructure, including: water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities;
• Preparation of equipment and piping layouts, process and instrumentation diagrams, as well as watermain and gravity sewer design;
• Civil design and drafting associated with treatment and other infrastructure work;
• Drafting detailed engineering drawings based on verbal instruction and/or hand sketches;
• Preparing quantity estimates;
• Ensuring quality control and verifying accuracy of your production work;
• Communicating with project leaders and team members; and
• Field Work –construction inspection, testing and commissioning.

About You
Our preferred candidate is currently enrolled in an Engineering Technology program or recently graduated from an Engineering Technology program related to water (civil, mechanical, chemical) in the past year and possesses the following skills, strengths and interests:
• Strong computer skills. Familiar with AutoCAD design products;
• Familiarity with Civil 3D, Plant 3D or Revit would be considered an asset;
• Knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure would be considered an asset;
• Mechanical aptitude;
• High attention to detail;
• Proactive, able to take initiative and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Willingness to help out where needed on a variety of projects, including general civil infrastructure design and production; and
• Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
ExperienceOur preferred candidate is currently enrolled in an Engineering Technology program or recently graduated from an Engineering Technology program related to water (civil, mechanical, chemical) in the past year.
