Operations Manager

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) works with regional and district operations to plan, develop, and auction the province's annual available timber volume. BCTS operates as a for-profit entity within a government organization. Its goal is to provide credible representative price and cost benchmark data for the Market Pricing System through auctions of timber harvested from British Columbia's public land. Three overarching principles guide operations: forest sector safety, reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and sustainable forest management.

The Operations Manager will handle negotiations involving business-to-business arrangements. The role provides leadership and management of forest resource planning and First Nation and stakeholder relations. The role also provides data stewardship and leadership of environmental and safety certification components. The Operations Manager leads forestry functions carried out by professional and technical staff and will lead and participate in corporate working groups.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Degree or diploma in resource management, public administration, aboriginal studies or equivalent and five years of related experience.
- Experience in program administration including allocating resources, leading, and coaching diverse teams, supervising staff and in strategic business planning, procurement and financial management.
- Experience developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development.
- Experience with resolving problems through negotiation with stakeholders.
Salary$86,200.00 - $122,100.01 per year
