There are currently two (2) permanent, full-time positions that can be located in Burns Lake, Hazelton, Houston, Smithers, or Terrace.
Depending on the successful candidate's location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in B.C. at the time of employment.
Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in the above locations.

Senior Authorizations Technologist

The Ministry of Forests is responsible for natural resource management in British Columbia.

As a Senior Authorizations Technologist, you will be working in a variety of settings and providing expertise and advice to others. You may also make decisions regarding the allocation of resources and adjudication of resource authorizations for the Natural Resource Sector. This role focuses on overseeing and providing guidance to the work of other technical staff and contracted resources.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC). Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to FPBC within six (6) months of employment. Applicants who do not meet the RFT requirement may be considered at a lower classification on the condition they are working toward their RFT designation with FPBC and obtain the RFT requirement for this position within 24 months. Confirmation of registration/eligibility is required before an offer of employment can be made.
- Diploma in natural resource management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Related experience working in natural resource management.
- Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
Salary$69,760.70 - $79,322.69 annually
