You will be essential for maintaining the reliability of our refinery’s production capabilities by installing, servicing and repairing a variety of plant electrical equipment. You will also participate and assist in establishing an environment that reflects craft flexibility, effectiveness and teamwork, all while having opportunities to build, grow and diversifying your skills! You will use your expertise to: - Install, service, maintain and troubleshoot a wide spectrum of our plant electrical equipment and machinery in high and low voltage applications
- Maintain, test and ensure the functionality of our refinery electrical equipment protection systems, safety systems, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) equipment and backup systems
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems
- Participate in failure analysis discussions and maintain equipment histories as required
- Plan jobs, including material assessment and selection; develop and execute switching procedures
- Work effectively in a flexible team environment and communicate clearly with peers and management
- Assist other maintenance and production technicians as required to ensure equipment/plant reliability
- Provide exceptional support to the maintenance team
We’d like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (minimum requirements): - Five years of electrical maintenance experience in a large industrial facility
- High Voltage experience maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting and switching high voltage systems / equipment up to 15KV
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrical Technician Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Electrical Technician Certificate and/or a Power System Electrician Certificate; attach your Journeyperson / Red Seal ticket with your application to be considered
- A strong safety mindset with proven safe work practices
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
- Zero-tolerance for shortcuts, and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
- Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing
Preference for: - An Electrical Engineering Technology diploma and/or Power System Electrician certification with experience maintaining High Voltage Systems
- and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations
- Proficient knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office suite
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information: - You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way
- This position is safety sensitive
- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
