This role offers a great opportunity to work with high visibility corporate projects across a wide variety of technologies, from disruptive (solvents and novel processes) through to continuous improvement initiatives (wellbore enhancements).

You will use your expertise to:

• Support a strategy build by testing, obtaining approval and plan implementation with a view of creating a Simulation Center of Excellence
• Provide simulation support to in situ resources and strategic technology teams - design and execute simulation plans with high quality and on schedule
• Recommend and coordinate special reservoir studies related to modeling and lab work
• Support our strategic technology team in identifying and progressing opportunities and technologies to improve economic and sustainability metrics

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

• 10 years of related experience
• A professional engineering designation through APEGA
• Simulation experience in thermal processes (SAGD)
• Demonstrated experience in applying reservoir engineering fundamentals (PVT, SCAL, capillary pressure, etc.)
• Exceptional organization and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
• A proven ability to manage numerous projects and changing priorities under tight deadlines
• The ability to create a strong internal and external network that nurtures development and generation of new ideas into tangible results
• Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

• Simulation experience in solvent, geomechanics and wellbore modelling

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

• You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
