You will use your expertise to:

  • Assist in the completion of engineering work packages and material requisition packages
  • Participate in developing solutions to technical issues and in the verification of implementation of these solutions
  • Build and lead tools for tracking process data for analysis and metrics reporting
  • Review daily production data for accuracy and you will input it into data management systems as well summary reports, performance metrics, graphical representation and presentations as required
  • Understand and optimize current production and you will craft production strategies for future Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) developments while using basic concepts of thermodynamics to interpret the process as well as solve problems

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Current enrollment in a formal co-op or internship program in 3rd or 4th year Electrical Engineering at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term

  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, VBA script, and macro programming
  • A dynamic understanding of process system software, MATLAB, ASPEN Plus, C++, 2D Drafting experience using AUTOCAD, and/ or process system modeling using HYSYS
  • Extraordinary written, verbal communication, administration and organizational skills

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will be based in Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray or Fort Hills
  • This is an 8 – 12 month work term, from September 2019 – August 2020
  • Some of these positions have been identified as safety sensitive
  • Relocation support will be provided if approved for the position, we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
  • Your work schedule will be determined based on the position requirements
