NOTICE OF POSTING For Hourly-Rated Sessional Music Faculty The School of the Arts invites applications for the following Hourly-Rated Sessional Music Faculty position to be offered in the 2019-2020 academic session. Date of Posting: July 12 to July 26, 2019 Department Contact: Dr. Virginia Aksan, Acting Director Rose Mannarino, Administrative Coordinator - mannari@mcmaster.ca Course Name(s)/Number(s): MUSIC 1-4E06, 1-4EE6, 3-4E03, 3-4EE3, 4E09, 4EE9: Solo Performance Lessons; MUSIC 3-4SS3, 3-4GA3: Special Studies in Chamber Music or Accompanying Instrument: HARP Term: Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Location (on/off campus): Main Campus Projected Enrollment: 1 - 3 Examination Period: December 2019 and April 2020 Wage Rate: $66.70 per hour Start Time and Duration: To be arranged Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties: E03, E06, EE3, EE6: An intensive study of the technique and repertoire of: Harp. 12 one-hour meetings per term, per student, one or two terms.
4E09: A continuation of Music 3E06 on the same instrument. Advanced technique and repertoire, leading to a final examination in a recital presentation of approximately forty minutes in duration. 12 one-hour meetings per term, per student, two terms.
3SS3/4SS3: Advanced supervised studies in chamber music performance or vocal or instrumental accompanying. 12 one-hour meetings per term, per ensemble, one term.
An Hourly-Rated Sessional Music Faculty is required to teach solo performance, or special studies in chamber music or accompanying for the following instrument: Harp Required Qualifications: Professional and educational background in the field; extensive experience in teaching harp.
