Heavy Equipment Operator

The Opportunity

Our Ryley, AB location is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team. This position is responsible for safely operating and maintaining the heavy equipment used in the landfill.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Operate a variety of trucks and equipment, including: lugger trucks, rock trucks, highway trucks, vacuum trucks, water trucks, skid-steers, dozers, track hoes and forklifts;
• Pump and monitor leachate systems in the landfills;
• Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance;
• Timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork. 

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is preferred; 
• 1 – 3 years previous heavy equipment operating experience (forklift, track hoes, dozers, loaders);
• Class 5 license with clean 5-year driver’s abstract, Class 3 license is an asset;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment;
• Ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods of time;
• Ability to lift 50lbs regularly throughout the day.
