$59,982.95 - $75,301.02 annually plus isolation allowance + $32.89 bi-weekly for Smithers location + $35.88 bi-weekly for Houston and Burns Lake locations

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) manages about 20 per cent of the province’s allowable annual cut for Crown timber, generating economic prosperity for British Columbians through the safe, sustainable development and auction of Crown timber.

The Indigenous Relations Liaison works within the BCTS business area to develop and maintain positive relationships with Indigenous Peoples to advance BCTS’ business principle dedicated to true and lasting reconciliation. The position works directly with Indigenous Peoples and BCTS staff to plan and facilitate legal consultation processes (i.e., preparation, engagement, accommodation, decision and follow-up) consistent with legal requirements, reconciliation and relationship building, and supports senior staff in negotiation and implementation of business-to-business and relational agreements that contribute to effective and durable relationships with Indigenous Peoples.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Registered, or eligible for registration, as professional (i.e. Registered Professional Forester) with the British Columbia association as required by the specialty area, and 2 years of experience related to natural resource or Indigenous Peoples relationship management.
Registered Forest Technologist do not qualify as professionals under this classification series, but are encouraged to explore the STO 24 posting for this position under Requisition 71061.
• Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.
