Salary $61,665.45 - $70,367.02 annually
2 Positions available - 1 position is a temporary opportunity until June 30, 2019 and 1 position is full time / permanent.
The Emergency Planning Analyst leads and manages the development of operational and strategic policies, procedures, guidance documents, tools, legislation and regulations in accordance with the BC Environmental Management Act and Emergency Program Act to support environmental emergency response in coordination with program staff, internal/external agencies and stakeholders. This role encompasses providing expert advice and information in a variety of forums such as public information meetings; responding to inquiries and/or complaints from companies, agencies and the general public; and planning and participating in internal and external stakeholders’ consultations to define program policies and priorities.

Qualifications for this role include:
• A Bachelor’s degree. (Master’s Degree preferred)
• Applicants that do not meet the minimum education requirements will still be considered to satisfy the job requirements if they can demonstrate they have a suitable combination of education and related experience. (i.e. Certificate and 2 years’ related experience)
1 year of experience in:
• Researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis
• Managing projects and/or project components
• Writing memos for senior decision-makers
