Duties: As a team member within Safety and Health Services, this position will provide Workplace Safety and Health direction and guidance to RRC Academic and Non Academic areas to ensure that they are compliant with MB WSH Act and Regulation and any other regulatory bodies. This position has specific operational responsibilities in the area of coordinating the Chemical Safety Program, WHMIS Program, and is responsible for overseeing the Hazardous Waste Management Program. Develop and implement specific safety and health training, maintain safety records, conduct risk assessments, develop safe work procedures, lead workplace inspections and investigations. The incumbent will also respond and provide guidance on any Improvement Orders that are issued to the College. They will assist several Workplace Safety and Health Committees in their duties as well as provide member training. They will assist with emergency response requirements under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and provide employee first aid training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Certificate or combination of education and experience may be considered
- Minimum 5 years of OHS administration experience or including but not limited to inspections, investigations and development of safe work procedures
- Knowledge of OHS related issues including risk identification and safety and health legislation
- Efficient communication skills and experience in facilitating in adult education and/or teaching in a mature setting
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi task are required to work on several projects , duties and tasks within deadlines
- Efficient interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to communicate accurate health and safety information in writing
- Demonstrated experience with managing hazardous waste and hazardous materials
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- CRSP Designation
- TGD Training
- Respirator Fit Testing Experience
- Experience using Occupational Hygiene Equipment

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work overtime
- This position may be required to travel
