Role
With a focus on improving outcomes for Indigenous children and families in Alberta, you will lead engagement of Indigenous communities and organizations to strengthen understanding, relationships and overall cultural competency in the delivery of services to Indigenous children, youth and families. Working within a collaborative environment, you are accountable for providing a range of supports that contribute to the overall effective management and operation of the department of Children’s Services, including leading strategic policy and key corporate services. Your team will work effectively with partners to develop solutions to improving capacity in service delivery and ensuring solid planning and business processes are in place.

Qualifications
A credible and compassionate leader, you are respected for your abilities to listen attentively, plan wisely and implement effectively. Your in-depth experience with Indigenous communities and cultures has given you a deep respect for different beliefs, traditions and values. You are especially concerned about the lives of Indigenous children, youth and families, and have a keen understanding of their unique needs, and a vision for positive change.

Your background includes extensive and varied executive management experience in social services organizations and multi-stakeholder environments. You bring strengths in leading initiatives, operations and/or public policy development in a large organization with the ability to plan and influence system change. You are seasoned in working with governments and effective at building relationships with Indigenous people and communities and a broad range of stakeholders. Your experience includes fiscal management and strategic, business and operational planning. Your capacity to inspire and guide teams will support you in creating culturally appropriate service delivery throughout the province. The ability to speak an Indigenous language is preferred and a related degree is an asset.

This position has been designated for Indigenous persons under the Alberta Human Rights Act (10.1).
Salary$153,289 - $201,175 ($5,873.18 - $7,707.88 Bi-weekly)
