Description
The Analyst, Information Security contributes to the Information Security Assessment Process by performing general operational functions/tasks that help to ensure the appropriate application of information security processes across the enterprise.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Conducts background research on products and technology to proactively support projects
• Collects documentation in preparation for analysis related to projects and technology being assessed for security capabilities
• Configures systems for testing of security resilience and configuration
• Performs follow-up on incident reports as requested or required to support IPC
• Assists in the data classification and business impact statements to ensure the projects provide accurate information
• Serves as front line support to customers’ inquiries ensuring all service level agreements are met.
• Assists in the day to day security application and infrastructure support to ensure security compliance.
• Maintains operational procedures in order to comply with security policy and operational framework.
• Assists in providing existing resources to internal customers upon request to leverage existing guidelines
• Develops security components for banking systems/networks as required by projects
• Performs security knowledge transfer to assist making security part of normal IT and business activities
• Contributes to BMO Financial Group’s overall business results by making recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

Knowledge:

• An Engineering; Computer Science; Finance/Commerce; IT Management degree
• Security related certification is considered an asset (CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC).
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of the T&O standard operating platforms, system administration, development process, intrusion detection, and Internet architecture
• Displays some knowledge of programming and/or networking
• Basic knowledge of project management processes, documentation, audit and signoff authorities
• Must possess specific information security skill sets, including a good knowledge and understanding of security classification, security assessment processes, and system hardening
Skills:
• Possesses basic communication skills, both written and oral
• Demonstrates basic analysis skills
• Displays high ethics and trust values
