Ministry of Labour Multiple locations There are currently multiple permanent opportunities available and multiple temporary opportunities available until January 31, 2023. These temporary opportunities may become permanent. This position can be based in any of the following offices: Victoria, Kelowna, Langley, Richmond, Prince George, Nanaimo, Dawson Creek, and Terrace. We offer flexible work arrangements, including the opportunity to volunteer in telework (with conditions) as set out in applicable employer policies. Industrial Relations Officer (IRO) $66,900.01 - $94,600.06 annually The anticipated starting salary is $70,000 annually. Industrial Relations Officers investigate alleged employer contraventions of the Employment Standards Act or Temporary Foreign Worker Protection Act as part of the Employment Standards Branch. The nature of the work is diverse and complex. Industrial Relations Officers manage demanding caseloads while also improving awareness and knowledge of employment standards in the Province. As senior level investigators, Industrial Relations Officers also mentor and train Employment Standards Officers on investigative techniques and best practices. Qualifications for this role include: - Completed Bachelor's Degree or higher and *related experience; or - A Diploma/Certificate, plus 2 years *related experience; or - An equivalent combination of education and *related experience may be considered. *Related experience must include all of the following: - Experience interpreting and applying legislation, contracts, and/or policies. - Experience conducting investigations, including interviewing parties, obtaining and disclosing information, keeping notes and preparing correspondence. - Experience resolving disputes or complex issues between opposing parties. | |
