| BC Parks Student Ranger Opportunities Multiple Locations Are you a student looking for an exciting summer employment opportunity? Join the BC Parks team as part of the Student Ranger Program! Members of the Student Ranger Program will have the opportunity to work outside for the summer in some of the most beautiful locations in British Columbia, learn new skills from new friends and colleagues, and make lasting positive impacts on their communities. From conservation and recreation to Indigenous relations and public outreach, Student Rangers will gain a wide variety of experience on many unique BC Parks projects in their regions. Past projects have included trail and campsite enhancements, trail mapping, species at risk surveys, cultural site protection, interpretive demonstrations, long term ecological monitoring, and more. Student Ranger Crew Members and Student Ranger Crew Leads will work in teams of four from late May to late August in numerous BC Parks locations across the province. Applicants must also be available to attend program training from May 25-28, 2021. Details on this training will be provided during the offer of employment. Applicants for the Student Ranger Crew and Student Ranger Crew Lead positions must be between 18-30 years of age; enrolled in full-time studies at an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution within the past six months; a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada; and legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act [CRRA] check, and/or enhanced security screening checks will also be required. | |
