Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. operates in a competitive global market producing wide ranging metal-based assemblies and components across a variety of industry sectors including but not limited to Mining, Oil & Gas, Crane and Drag-line Components, Agricultural, Machine building, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.
Increased over the years, our extensive plant capacity developed to cater for our multi- million pound turnover, is spread across three facilities manned by over 150 employees. It incorporates shot blasting, stress relieving, fitting, welding, machining, non-destructive testing, final paint, right on through to our own logistics network. This is a single source solution for the customer as opposed to using a range of other individual supply chain members carrying out single activities.
Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is seeking **1 permanent full-time, experienced QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR to join our team!
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality related programs, ISO 9001 or other standard codes such as ASME, API
• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding inspection is required.
• Understanding of dimensional inspection (GD&T).
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Understanding of use of inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, thread gauges, verniers, etc.).
• Experience with Faro Arm (laser tracking).
• CMM experience with PCDMIS is preferred.
• Experience in CNC machining environment is an asset.
• Experience inspecting weldments is preferred.
• Accurate reporting experience.
• Willing to work occasional weekends dependent on workload.
• Willing to work both days and afternoon shift rotation.
Skills:
• English language
• College diploma in quality, technology, or equivalent certifications.
• Able to work within a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met
• Proven working experience in a quality inspection position
• Knowledge and working experience within the Manufacturing industry is required
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Computer literate
• Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
• Must be able to multi-task
• High level of logical thinking
• Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
• Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
• High level of personal integrity
• Strong work ethic
• Self-starter
• Confident, consistent, decisive personality
Duties
• Setting up and calibrating QC equipment
• Inspecting completed welds
• Assessing the quality, strength of completed welds.
• Evaluate materials and assembly parts to ensure that they meet their quality standards.
• Identifying structural, material and welding defects.
• Interpreting test result, completing test reports and presenting findings.
