This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

Senior Advisor, Indigenous Relations
$80,652.20 - $91,992.70 annually

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure's Highway Department consists of approximately 1,050 staff in 30 communities throughout BC, working every day to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operations of the highway network.

The Senior Advisor manages Indigenous consultation activities for highway projects, which have high economic value, high risk for legal challenges, or high political impacts. Highway projects are on Crown Land and require a determination of the impact on identified or potentially claimed or proven Indigenous interests.

Job Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education, with a minimum of 1 year of *related experience, OR
-Diploma or equivalent education, with minimum of 3 years of *related experience, OR
-Grade 12 graduation or equivalent, with minimum of 5 years of *related experience, OR
-An equivalent combination of education and *related experience may be considered.

*Related experience must include the following:
-Experience in negotiating agreements and settlements with Indigenous Communities.
-Experience in leading consultation process with Indigenous communities.
-Experience building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities.
-Experience managing multiple projects andor portions of major projects.
-Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, historical highway right of way, resource management, social or economic development issues.
Salary$80,652.20 - $91,992.70 Annually
