The Indigenous Cadet Program is aimed at mentoring and coaching Indigenous youth aged 19 to 31 years who demonstrated a desire to become Vancouver police officers. The program runs June through August. During their VPD internship, the cadets work with Fleet Services, ride along with members from various sections within the Department, and participate in the annual Pulling Together Canoe Journey. The Indigenous Cadet Program is sponsored by the Aboriginal Community Career Employment Services Society (ACCESS). | |

Credentials | - 19 to 31 years of age - Indigenous ancestry (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit) - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent - Canadian citizen or permanent resident - No criminal convictions, no adult criminal charges pending |
