Ministry of Forests Port Alberni (Hybrid) There is currently one (1) temporary, full-time position available. This temporary appointment may become a permanent position. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Resource Manager $88,700.23 - $125,700.07 annually As a Resource Manager, you are a member of a professional team working within natural resource management and infrastructure development including the planning and management of Crown land, forest stewardship, forest landscape planning and forest authorizations. This role has considerable independence and autonomy within a collaborative environment, leading a diverse, high performing team comprised of technical, administrative and professional staff. Experience | Qualifications for this role include: - University degree or diploma in a field related to natural resource management, business/public administration or acceptable equivalent and five (5) years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of related education and a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related experience may also be considered. - Directly related experience is defined as experience in natural resource management in one (1) or more of the following disciplines: forest tenures, forest stewardship, range, forest engineering, water, lands, corporate services, wildfire management, First Nations and land information management. - Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with partners and stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development. - Must possess and maintain a valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence (or equivalent). - Preference may be given to those who are currently registered with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) as a Registered Forest Technologist or Registered Professional Forester, or able to immediately transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to FPBC within six (6) months of employment. |
