Northern Lights College invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, Academic and Vocational Programs.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic and Research, the Dean will be a distinguished academic administrator possessing a Master’s and/or PhD in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They will have a broad understanding of, and appreciation for the research enterprise and the range of Academic and Vocational programming found at NLC. Among other responsibilities, the Dean will effectively manage budgets and resources, promote excellence in teaching and pedagogy, and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Dean will provide visionary and innovative leadership, and possess strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of leading transformation and institutional change. They will also bring significant leadership experience that illustrates their commitment to Indigeneity, diversity, and inclusion, along with a demonstrated ability to address systemic, structural, and historical disadvantage in pedagogy, as well as employment and admissions. The successful candidate will encourage collegiality and collaboration while balancing consultation with sound decision-making, empower faculty, staff, and students, be an excellent communicator and motivator, and a person of unassailable integrity and character.
