RIGHT CHOICE Camps & Catering is recruiting for 1st Cooks to work in our various locations in North western Alberta. Reporting to the Chef the successful candidate will be responsible for directing, controlling, and managing the kitchen including, but not limited to: food preparation, production, quality and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares the necessary food items in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest service
• Records all recipes utilized in the facility
• Adheres to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
• Responsible that the kitchen and dining room are kept at a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensures that the kitchen/freezers/coolers are kept in an organized manner
• Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
• Ensures that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with HACCP and company approved methods
• Operate an efficient kitchen
• Ensure that the quality of all food and beverage products are of the highest quality
• Development of a “Team” atmosphere within the facility
• Providing coaching sessions, guidance and mentorship to employees
• Promote positive and effective work atmosphere to encourage highest standards possible
Qualifications:
• 2 years of kitchen or catering experience in Food Service Industry
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR and Advanced Food Safe certificates
• Interprovincial Red Seal Certification or higher is an asset, but not required
• Must be physically fit to perform all duties of the position
• Positive attitude and outgoing personality are essential
• Must be dedicated to exceptional external and internal guest service
• Proven decision making ability
• Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers
• Strong focus on safety and quality of work
• Ability to travel and work within Western Alberta on a 21 day on and 7 day off rotation which includes nights, weekends and holidays
