Indigenous Relations Liaison

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) manages about 20 per cent of the province's allowable annual cut for Crown timber, generating economic prosperity for British Columbians through the safe, sustainable development and auction of Crown timber. BCTS operates in 33 communities and directly supports over 8,000 jobs across B.C.

As an Indigenous Relations Liaison, you will work within the BCTS business area to develop and maintain positive relationships with Indigenous Peoples to advance BCTS' business principle dedicated to true and lasting reconciliation. You will be working directly with Indigenous Peoples and BCTS staff to plan and facilitate legal consultation processes (i.e., preparation, engagement, accommodation, decision and follow-up) consistent with legal requirements, reconciliation and relationship building, and supporting senior staff in negotiation and implementation of business-to-business and relational agreements that contribute to effective and durable relationships with Indigenous Peoples.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as professional (i.e. Registered Professional Forester) with the British Columbia association as required by the specialty area, and 2 years of experience related to natural resource or Indigenous Peoples relationship management. Registered Forest Technologist do not qualify as professionals under this classification series.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.
Salary$61,182.54 - $77,067.27 annually
