Duties: The Copyright Librarian provides innovative leadership in the provision and oversight of the College's copyright compliance efforts and Fair Dealing provisions. The incumbent develops, implements, and manages initiatives and programs related to copyright compliance and fair use. The incumbent is responsible for developing and leading activities and programs to advance the adoption and creation of open educational resources (OER) at the College. The incumbent communicates broadly and collaborates closely with stakeholders from across the College including but not limited to students, faculty, library staff, the Centre for Learning and Program Excellence, legal counsel, and the Campus Store and Print Shoppe. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Masters of Library and Information Sciences (MLS/MLIS) an equivalent experience and education may be considered - Experience in an academic library is required - Ability to work with, lead and motive others - Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently - Effective problem solving skills and the ability to act on sound judgment - Analytical and critical thinking skills are required - Knowledge and understanding of Canadian and international copyright legislation - Knowledge of fair dealing provisions - Understanding of copyright compliance in an post-secondary institution - Knowledge of open education resources and copyright implications - Project management training and/or demonstrated ability to lead projects is an asset. - Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Commitment to lifelong learning ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - Change management training is an asset.
