The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre is a program of Youth Justice and Forensic Services of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. The Maples is a designated provincial mental health facility providing 'On site', community, outreach and ancillary services to collaboratively support youth, families and communities. Additional services include community consultation service, training/capacity building opportunities and ongoing sharing of current literature. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, our objective is to collaboratively enhance the capacity of communities to plan and care for challenging youth through a closer to home focus.

This position conducts psychological assessments and develops community care plans for youth with significant psychiatric and behavioural difficulties, mental illness and youth found Not Criminally Responsible by Reason of a Mental Disorder (NCRMD) or unfit to stand trial.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Registered, in the process of registration, or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, preferably from a Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association accredited program.
- Specific, supervised, and comprehensive education and training in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
- Candidates who have not yet completed their Ph.D., and/or registration with the College of Psychologists would be hired at a lesser rate of pay until all requirements have been completed. As a condition of continued employment, the appointee is required to become registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
- Three (3) years of experience in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
- Previous supervised psychological assessment experience with children and youth and use of current psychological assessment instruments.
- Successful completion of a psychological pre- or post-doctoral internship of 1600 hours in a child and youth mental health or hospital setting with specialization in formal psychological assessment, diagnoses, and treatment of mental health disorders.
Salary$87,717.44 - $110,210.86 annually
