Emergency Management Project Management Advisor
$66,557.72 - $75,884.38 annually

Emergency Management British Columbia (EMBC) is responsible for leading the management of provincial level emergencies and disasters and supporting other authorities within their areas of jurisdiction. EMBC works directly with local governments, Indigenous Nations, provincial ministries and agencies, federal departments, other jurisdictions, industry and volunteers in hazard mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

The Emergency Management Project Management Advisor fulfills a key role, leading the development and implementation of projects and initiatives to achieve provincial emergency management modernization objectives. This role leads large scale modernization projects with significant external impact, manages a range of internal and external stakeholders and significant assigned resources. The Emergency Management Project Management Advisor also guides staff in project management best practice throughout the project management life cycle.

Qualifications for this role include:

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in emergency management, business administration, public administration, natural resources, or a related field and two (2) years of related experience*; OR,
• Grade 12 and six (6) years of related experience*; OR,
• Another equivalent combination of education and related experience* may be considered.

*Related experience must include a minimum of 2 or 6 years of experience (as above) in each of the following:

• Progressive Project Management experience.
• Working effectively on multiple projects and assignments.
• Managing projects: including developing processes for performance management and evaluation, conducting research, analysis, and the evaluation of qualitative and quantitative information.
• Directing the work of others (professional employees and /or consultants)
