| Upholsterer needed at a busy furniture store specializing in high end/traditional and modern furniture located in Brampton, Ontario Job location: 2575 Steeles Avenue East Unit 14-17 Brampton, ON L6T 5T1 Canada Terms: Full-time, permanent job with flexible working hours- weekends included Job duties include: - Discuss the upholstery fabric, texture, color and style with the clients to provide estimate cost for upholstering furniture and/or other items - Fix and/or replace worn-out springs, webbings using hand tools, power tools, glue cement or staples to secure them back in place - Design upholstery cover patterns and cutting plans based on sketches, customer descriptions or blueprints provided - Maintain records of time to perform each job - Operate sewing machine or sew upholstery by hand to seam cushions and join various sections of covering material - Stretch webbing and fabric using webbing stretchers - Read work orders and apply knowledge and experience with materials to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover workpieces - Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces - Install padding and underlays to furniture the frame - May have to deliver orders to client’s given address occasionally - Deliver custom-made finished pieces as per the client’s demand A qualified candidate must have knowledge on how to operate all the hand and power tools, be able to distinct between colours, understand clients’ needs, provide excellent customer service, dedicated, attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination. | |
