Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Application Programmer will be responsible for building and enhancing our in-house Transportation Management System (TMS) which will provide an efficient control and management of our Operations Department, Accounting, Data Entry, and Customs Departments, as well as our equipment units, border clearance system, software integrations, and automatic processing. Responsibilities will include:

Develop, create, and implement the in-house Fleet Management System;
Write, modify, integrate and test software codes for applications such as our Smart Fleet Management System and Transportation Management System;
Maintain existing computer programs such as Smart Fleet by making modifications as required;
Identify and communicate technical issues and make recommended solutions;
Research a variety of software products;
Develop logical and physical specifications;
Collect and document user requirements;
Prepare reports, manuals or other technical documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of integrated applications.

Education RequirementsBachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering
ExperienceMinimum 2 years’ working experience as a Business Application Programmer and/or Software Developer;
Demonstrated, efficient pre-development experience of the Transport Management System (TMS) software component;
Proven experience developing software and applications specific to the transportation industry;
Proven experience in TMS software program creation and inbound support, system implementation and building applications;
Knowledge of tracking hardware for trucks and trailers and GPS signal protocol providers such as Omnitracs and/or Spireon;
Knowledge of software security protocols for protection of private and business information;
Knowledge of GPS data and hardware processes and procedures which help to integrate both hardware and GPS signals to a telematics system;
Computer programming knowledge and internal linked programs such as Infosite, SmartFleet.
