The opportunity

The Project Talent & Resource Management and Communications team within the Technical Centre is looking for an experienced Communications Advisor to join our team. The team is responsible for ensuring project personnel are well positioned to understand and implement initiatives coming out of the Technical Centre and, more specifically, out of the Project Delivery Excellence & Supply Chain team. The role is critical to the successful execution of projects at TC and ensures that programs and initiatives driven by the PDE&SC teams are understood, implemented and sustained.


Reporting to the Manager of Project Talent & Resource Management & Communications, you will apply your strategic thinking skills and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including exposure to senior leaders.  You will enable the key objectives of the team, most notably, improving the predictability and effectiveness of outcomes for TC Energy's projects.


What you'll do

  • Development and implementation of communications and engagement strategies in support of PDE & SC initiatives
  • Support broad engagement programs between PDE & SC and the BUs
  • Business planning and change management planning by collaborating with a variety of PDE & SC portfolios
  • Ensure alignment between PDE & SC and other Technical Centre portfolios
  • Engage with Project execution personnel at all levels across TC Energy
  • Support internal communications within the PDE & SC organization, including Leadership Team engagement and broader organizational communications avenues
  • Engage with Corporate Communications and Change Management teams in the development and implementation of key communication and engagement initiatives
  • Utilize strategic communications tools (Sharepoint, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Infocus).

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • University Degree related to communications, training or project management
  • Minimum of four (4) or more years of related progressive experience
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the development of strategic communications and engagement plans in support of critical business initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong networks to further business objectives
  • Demonstrated understanding of project development and interface between key project functions
  • Advanced experience with MS Office Software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project
  • Self-starter with demonstrated organizational leadership and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work with ambiguity synthesizing information into clear messaging and statements
  • A self-starter with demonstrated organizational leadership and people skills
  • Excellent communications and presentations skills, to enable effective interaction with project teams and senior leadership 
  • An attitude and aptitude for continuous improvement and change management coupled with a pragmatic and flexible approach to completing work both in a group and independent setting
