Assessment Coordinators
$72,724.97 - $83,014.85 annually plus 3.3% Temporary Market Adjustment

The purpose of this competition is to establish an eligibility list for current and future permanent and/or temporary opportunities.

There are currently two permanent Provincial Assessment Coordinator positions available and we expect to have multiple temporary and/or permanent Provincial Assessment Coordinator and Assessment Marking Coordinator vacancies in the near future.

We offer flexible work arrangements, including the opportunity to volunteer to telework (with conditions) as set out in applicable employer policies.

Provincial Assessment Coordinator

The primary responsibility of these two positions is to oversee the design and ongoing development of Grades 4 and 7 Provincial Assessments - with one position responsible for the Numeracy Assessment and the other for the Literacy Assessment - ensuring provincial standards and sound principles of large-scale assessment align with the direction of curriculum and other key areas of education in the Province. This includes assessment specification development, item writing, field testing, establishing scoring standards and resources, test preparation, reviews, final production, and standard setting.

Assessment Marking Coordinator

The Assessment Marking Coordinator leads and implements the administration of provincial graduation assessments for all BC schools and the Yukon in a timely, accurate and effective manner. This position provides graduation expertise and offers expert knowledge of all program requirements, including viable options to school district staff, principals, teachers, parents, and students when educational issues and exceptions arise with assessments. This position leads the administration of national and international assessments, and coordinates marking and monitoring sessions for provincial assessments. This position is also responsible for developing policies, procedures and standards relating to administration of provincial assessments within the BC graduation program.
