In accordance with our mandate, Payments Canada also facilitates the interaction of our systems with other payment systems, both within Canada and internationally, and facilitates the development of new payment methods and technologies. |The Position The Financial Market Risk Team is integral to Payments Canada ensuring Payments Canada?s payment systems comply with Bank of Canada Risk-Management Standards and international best practices which include monitoring and reporting on financial risks that our members are exposed to by participating in our clearing and settlement systems including those currently operated by Payments Canada and the systems that will be developed as part of Payments Canada?s Modernization initiatives. We are seeking an enthusiastic student who is currently obtaining a post-secondary degree in data science, finance, economics, or related field, to support our Financial Market Risk team. This is a temporary full-time opportunity, for a four or eight month term. This position will support various initiatives, including but not limited to: - Supporting the Financial Market Risk Team and its associated activities - Reviewing current monitoring documentation and expanding the scope of reporting - Supporting the development of the Financial Market Risk Monitoring Framework for new payments initiatives - Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files. | |

Experience | |Requirements - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Outstanding work ethic, ability to work in a dynamic team environment, and excellent problem-solving skills Intellectual curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and strong attention to detail - Data analysis and coding experience in any language would be consider an asset |
