| Ministry of Attorney General Multiple Locations (Remote) Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. Indigenous Relations Engagement Lead $67,728.87 - $77,012.22 annually A great opportunity to contribute to advancing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples The Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Branch (MARB) manages the successful completion of projects and initiatives of strategic importance to the Government of British Columbia. The Branch ensures that the Government's anti-racism mandate commitments and its legislative obligations under the Multiculturalism Act are fulfilled with three core objectives: championing anti-racism across government, addressing systemic discrimination, and supporting communities to respond to racism and hate. This role leads and/or contributes to ongoing engagement with Indigenous partners for legislation and programs. The Indigenous Relations Engagement Lead provides expertise and advice to internal and external partners regarding the design and delivery of services that are culturally safe and meet the needs of Indigenous communities in British Columbia. Qualifications for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Indigenous/Indigenous Nations studies, social science, education law, economics, business administration, public administration, public policy, emergency management OR a Degree in a related discipline and community engagement training/certification. - Experience: - Facilitating the development of policies and plans with Indigenous partners, as well as interested and affected groups including Local Government, and NGOs. - Leading and facilitating project teams and working with multiple Indigenous partners to deliver a product, program, or service. - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preference may be given to candidates who: - Self-identify as having Indigenous heritage (Indigenous Nations, Me tis, Inuit). - Have experience working with and engaging with Indigenous Nations communities and/or organizations. - Have experience developing and delivering briefs for Indigenous Nations and organizations. - Have experience communicating in one or more BC Indigenous Nations languages / dialects. | |
