About the Opportunity

Our Surrey office is looking to add a skilled Civil Technologist to our transportation team. Do you want to benefit from the support of industry professionals while working on exciting and complex projects?
You will be working with our transportation team to complete designs from high-level conceptual through to detailed design.

Specifically, in this role, you will:
• Carry out drafting and design tasks using Civil 3D
• Support project teams with drawing production, construction specifications, and quantity calculations
• Adhere to client and/or internal production standards
• Expand your working knowledge of transportation design
• Effectively communicate with team members and project leaders
• Perform quality control and verify the accuracy of design drawings
• Develop your civil engineering skills by working alongside a dedicated team of professionals

Due to COVID-19, the opportunity to work remotely and from home does exist, although, from time-to-time, we may need assistance with client work or face-to-face meetings. Therefore, the individual would need to reside in the Lower Mainland.
Essential SkillsThe following attributes would be considered beneficial to this role:
• You are proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (required)
• You have a keen interest in transportation design
• You have a working knowledge of TAC and BC MoTI guidelines and standards
• You are willing to learn new software as required
• You are a self-starter that can work independently and collaborate effectively with others
• You are detail-oriented and take pride in producing high quality work
• You have strong written and oral communication skills
• You are registered or eligible for certification with ASTTBC (preferred)
ExperienceOur preferred candidate will have a Diploma from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology program with up to 3 years of work experience.
