Vacancies: 05 Employment Term: Full-Time Permanent *Must be available to work early morning, daytime, evening, night and weekend Education: High school Credentials: Class 1 or A, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate is required Must have the ability to travel to and from the USA Experience: Experience an asset Type of Trucking: Flatbed, Dry Van and or Reefer Area of Service: Canada and the USA Yard Address: 1810 Queen Street Abbotsford, BC V2T 6J1 Security & Safety: Valid passport Driving record check (abstract) Criminal record check Medical exam and drug test required Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads up to 23 Kg (50 lbs) Sitting for long hours Physical Demanding Attention to detail As a Long Haul Truck Driver, Main Duties are, but, not limited to: 1. Operate and drive primarily Flatbed, Dry Van and or Reefer trucks to transport goods and materials from BC to all provinces in Canada and in the USA. 2. Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods 3. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, and turn signals, brakes and cold storage 4. Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods 5. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes 6. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption 7. Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books 8. Communicate with the dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and onboard computers, hands-free cell phone 9. May perform emergency roadside repairs 10. Drive as part of a two-person team | |
