Student Ranger Crew Member
Youth Employment Program Level 1 - $18.91/hour
Youth Employment Program Level 2 - $20.33/hour

BC Parks is responsible for the designation, management and conservation of a system of ecological reserves, provincial parks, conservancies, protected areas and recreation areas throughout the province. The provincial system of parks is dedicated to protecting natural environments for the public's inspiration, use and enjoyment.

The Student Ranger Crew Member works within a crew to deliver meaningful conservation, recreation, cultural and outreach-related projects in BC Parks and protected areas. Crew leads and other BC Parks staff will lead crew members to perform project work. Crew members will get hands-on work experience, education and training. They will also develop personal and professional skills as well as career and community networks.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Enrolled in full-time studies at an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution within the past 6-months;
- Experience working in a group of 2 or more to complete a project or task during an academic, work, community, Nation or volunteer experience. Preference may be given to candidates who have experience completing projects or tasks in the outdoors and/or involve a component of safety planning;
- Between 18 - 30 years of age;
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada;
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
- This position requires you to have a valid FULL BC driver's license (minimum class 5), or an equivalent class driver's license from another province or jurisdiction.
- Must attend Program Training May 14 to May 19, 2023 at Manning Provincial Park near Hope, BC. Details on this training will be provided at the offer of employment.
