Manitoba Hydro is seeking an experienced Technology Security Analyst.

Under the general guidance of the Chief Information Security Officer, the Technology Security Analyst is responsible for assisting the Chief Information Security Officer maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of corporate information, networks, applications and other technology assets. The analyst will design, implement, monitor, and enforce overall technology security policies, processes, and guidelines for the Manitoba Hydro technology environment that are driven by technology directions, strategic initiatives, user requirements, corporate risk expectations, and administrative minimization.

The analyst provides guidance and consulting assistance to management, staff, and project teams by recommending and enforcing security controls for new and existing technologies and applications within the corporate technology environment. The analyst is also responsible for developing, presenting and managing the dissemination of information security procedures and training materials to all users within Manitoba Hydro’s technology environment.

The position is located at 360 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Responsibilities:
-Provide recommendations for Technology Security planning and direction.
-Provide Technology Security consulting services to the IT Services Division and the Corporation, including EMS/SCADA systems support, to ensure consistency of security practices across all systems and networks.
-Support the development, implementation, communication, monitoring and maintenance of the Technology Security policies, standards, and procedures.
-Provide Technology Security Incident Management (manages the reporting, investigation and resolution of data security incidents).
-Conduct Technology Security assessments of systems, applications and networks.
-Ensure Disaster Recovery Plans and practices are in accordance with security guidelines.
-Provide Technology Security awareness programs and develop new initiatives.
-Provide assistance with Technology Security threat intelligence, SIEM management and Technology Security architecture.
-Maintain contact with industry security standards setting groups, and an awareness of legislation and regulations pertaining to information security.
-Provide support to all Technology Security compliance requirements.
-Conduct Technology Security research and keep current on all Technology Security-related issues.

Qualifications:
-A four year degree in Computer Science from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of five years of information security experience
OR
-A two year diploma in Computer Technology from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of seven years of information security experience.
-Certified or willing to attain certification as a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
-A good understanding of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) for the information systems security field as defined by ISC.
-An in-depth understanding of Manitoba Hydro's computing and network infrastructures.
-Capacity to deal effectively with groups and individuals from all levels of the Corporation.
Capacity to deal effectively with external organizations and groups.
-Effective communication and presentation skills.
-Excellent writing skills for developing both informational materials and security documentation.
-Capacity to deal effectively with the rapidly changing arena of Technology Security through innovation and creativity.
-Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence.
